Care Home extension in Tonypandy, South Wales
Stephen Waldron Architects has been commissioned to obtain planning consent for a significant expansion of an existing private nursing home in Tonypandy.
The need for high quality, well-managed care for the confused elderly especially is growing across the UK, and Stephen’s long track record in healthcare brought him to the attention of the frustrated owner who sought a care home extension. Currently offering 19 beds, Glyncormel Nursing Home has sufficient land for at least a further 30 bed spaces, and in the current economic and legislative framework nursing homes smaller than 30 beds are economically unviable.
However in this case the road junction also requires redesign to increase safety for a number of users, not just the nursing home. Stephen Waldron Architects has assembled a team of highway engineer, arboriculturalist, and ecological assessor to take this application through the careful consultation process with Rhondda Cynon Taff Borough Council who own much of the surrounding land.
A fly-through 3D visualisation will enable laypeople to appreciate the major improvement possible to this spot.
